Frustrating!

Mondays are always busy for me as I have to pack up all the weekend orders, so I have basically three days worth to get out in one day.  I do some of the work on Saturday and Sunday, but still, Mondays are busy, busy, busy.   The day started out fine and I was in a good mood.

I received an e-mail from a customer .  .  . they ordered two round pie irons and received two waffle irons instead.  Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but this happened last Monday, when I had to leave to go to school with Abby and then run to the hospital to take care of my dad.    I left Greg in charge of packing up a bunch of orders.  This was one of those he packed.  Now, again, that wouldn't be a big deal, but this was the SECOND order that he did that on!   I was so ticked!    I e-mailed the customer back and apologized and sent a UPS label for the waffle irons to be returned and I'll ship two pie irons to him.  I only hope that this wasn't a case of someone ordering waffle irons and getting pie irons!

Normally, I do ALL the shipping.  The kids have helped me on busy days, but they're mostly gophers when they help (which is a BIG help, even if they don't understand or realize it).  Knowing that the very busy holiday season is not far off and I'm going to need help getting orders out, Greg is going to come in early a couple days a week so I can go over all the shipping details with him.  We really need to be able to work together as a cohesive unit to get the orders out, not just in the coming holiday months, but always.

I wasn't able to leave the store until after 4 p.m., and Abby was already home by that point.  I ran home, made a salad and got some other quick computer work done, then ran back into town for Erica's volleyball game.  Unfortunately they lost two out of three games, but not because of Erica!  :)  There's three girls on the team who are really good, and I'm proud to say my daughter's one of them!  Last year was her first year playing volleyball and she was one of only TWO players who could serve the ball (overhanded) over the net!  She's still one of the best servers on the team!  She's also starting setter!   Seems my lovely Erica has found her "sport" for high school!   I'm so proud of her and can't wait to go to her games!  I took some pics today, and I'll try to post them with this entry, probably tomorrow.

Well, my pizza's done and it's late, so I'm going to go eat!    Have a great night, all!  I'm sure tomorrow will be a better day!

Godspeed,

Julie
